The FIDE WYCC and WCCC are international youth chess tournaments. The top three players from each section of the CYCC  automatically qualify for these events. The champion of each section will be sponsored!

Sponsorship and Qualification

The champion of each section of the CYCC becomes the official representative to WCCC or WYCC.  Only the champion of each section will receive sponsorship to attend the WCCC or WYCC.


All players who finish top 3 or tied for 2nd /3rd place qualify to participate in the followoing events:


  1. WCCC/WYCC
  2. Pan American Youth Chess Championship
  3. North American Youth Chess Championship

Sponsorship Amounts

The CFC will sponsor the champions of each section of the CYCC as follows:


  • Up to $1000 flight ticket 
  • FIDE registration fee
  • WCCC/WYCC event registration fee
  • Official player's accommodation and meals are covered by the host organizer

World Cadet Chess Championship (WCCC)

Available to the U08, U10, and U12 (open and girls) sections. 

August 21, 2019 - September 2, 2019 

Weifang, China


Timeline:

  • Jul 10- CYCC champions confirm if they are going to WCCC
  • Jul 13- Qualified players or approved players confirm if they are going to WCCC
  • Jul 15- Payment due date
  • Jul 18- CFC will wire the money to WCCC organizer.
  • The timeline will be strictly enforced as there is no room for extensions.

Fees:

  • FIDE registration fee – official player 70 euro, additional player 140 euro
  • WCCC registration fee – everyone (players and accompanying person) 100 euro
  • CFC youth fund - $150 for players who don’t finish top 3
  • Triple room is 56 euro x 13 x 3 =2184 euro
  • Double room A is 69 euro x 13 x 2 = 1794 euro
  • Double room B is 77 euro x 13 x 2 = 2002 euro
  • The conversion rate to Canadian is x 1.55 (set by CFC)

World Youth Chess Championship (WYCC)

 Available to the U14, U16, and U18 (open and girls) sections. 

October 1st - 13, 2019 

Mumbai, India


 WYCC registration has already started.  Once CYCC champions are announced, you will have two days to decide whether you are going to WYCC or not.  For all other players, you will have five days to make a final decision.  


Timeline:

  • Jul 12- CYCC champions confirm if they are going to WYCC
  • Jul 15- WYCC deadline date
  • Jul 16- Invoice will be sent to parents
  • Jul 22- Payment due date
  • Jul 29- CFC will wire the money to the WYCC organizer.

Fees:

  • FIDE entry/registration fee – official player 70 euro, additional player 140 euro
  • WYCC registration fee – everyone (players and accompanying person) 100 euro
    CFC youth fund -  $150 for players who don’t finish top 3
  • Single room is 115 euro x 13 x 1 = 1495 euro
  • Double room is 80 euro x 13 x 2 = 2080 euro
  • The conversion rate to Canadian is x 1.55 (set by CFC)

North American Youth Chess Championship

Kingston, ON

August 15-20, 2019 


 The Chess'n Math Association (CMA), the Chess Federation of Canada (CFC) and the World Chess Federation (FIDE) in collaboration with Tourism Kingston, are pleased to invite youth to the 16th Annual North American Youth Championship. This is the 4th time the event is being held in Canada and the first time in beautiful Kingston, Ontario. It will be FIDE, CFC and CMA rated. Everyone who meets the eligibility requirements can play!
